Information on the course.

This course has been designed for all staff who work in areas where patients/service users are seen and should include ancillary staff and volunteers. Therefore everyone working in the care profession needs to have an awareness of the principles of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation(CPR), The recovery position and to have knowledge of a defibrillator use and its purpose.


Course Content

  • Explain the purpose of Basic Life Support
  • Demonstrate Primary Survey, Resuscitation techniques, secondary survey and the steps to take in order to place a patient in the recovery position
  • Explain the importance of early intervention -the chain of survival and levels of consciousness
  • Describe how to identify a choking patient and deal with a choking patient in line with current national guidelines.


Qualification and Assessment

It should be noted that – Assessment will be a practical assessment of the Primary Survey, Resuscitation techniques, secondary survey and placing a patient in the Recovery Position.
Certification of attendance will be issued for the attendance of the course

This course is interactive and therefore it is requested that all delegates are dressed appropriately.
